First of all, you have to get a tube amplifier... Check out Mark Antony ESQ series ([ http://markantony.cc/amps.htm ]). Very reasonably priced, and the sound quality is amazing. Watch the power ratings though... if you like to listen to loud levels, get the 200 wpc version. Use this amp to drive your main speakers. Purchase some USED Rockford Fosgate Punch. These are much better than anything RF makes now and can be found on the used market for a reasonable price. They are VERY conservatively rated and are excellent for driving subwoofers and ancilliary speakers. As far as electronics go... I believe Nakamichi makes the best-sounding units. Instead of putting money in "swimming dolphin" graphics, etc... they put the money into parts quality. Try their TA-25 tuner/CD controller with an in-dash 6-disc changer mounted in the lower DIN. Change your CDs on the go! Don't forget to add Nakamichi's D/A Converter for much better CD sound. You might want to look into Audio Control equilizers. Really hard to beat! For speakers I'd suggest either Focals or Dynaudio. If you want to add some "zest" to your bass, consider mounting a pair of Aura Bass Shaker Pros (one under each seat). They don't produce any sound, but "rumble" with the bass notes. Even if you disconnect your subs, it "sounds" like you have bass in your car. Don't forget Dynamat in the doors and over the floorboard to reduce noise.
